Saint Matthew Parish was founded on January 4, 2021.  The parish territory comprises the former parishes of All Saints in Etna, Holy Spirit in Millvale, St. Aloysius in Reserve Township, and St. Bonaventure in Shaler Township.  The dedication of the first All Saints Church building occurred in 1902, to serve the Catholic community of Etna.  The establishment of the school occurred at this same time.  Due to the growth of the congregation, the church building quickly became inadequate to meet the needs of the parish. Rather than tear down the church, however, the parish moved it to another part of its property and built a new church on the site of the old church.  The dedication of the current church building occurred on December 19, 1915.  St. Matthew Parish continues to serve the pastoral needs of Etna Catholics.
